Tried and True Recipes Series, Episode 4: Five Vegan Recipes I’ve Been Making a Lot Recently

Hi all! I’m so glad that I finally got the courage to put together another episode in the Tried and True Recipes series, in which I’m going to share five vegan recipes by other bloggers or food writers/creators that I’ve been making over and over in the past few months. You can see all of the previous episodes in the Tried and True Recipes series here. Today’s roundup sounds like one heck of a feast if you were to serve all of these at once: a sandwich, a soup, a pasta dish, a stir-fry, and some delicious baked donuts for dessert. Portobello Mushroom Bacon BLT Sandwich This recipe for Portobello Mushroom Bacon was popping up in my Pinterest feed quite a bit a few weeks ago, so I finally gave in and made some for a low-key dinner. The recipe is easy and fairly quick – the longest part was … Read the rest of the post

Our Vegan Thanksgiving Recap: Recipe Hits and Misses

I thought of beginning this post with ‘I can’t believe Thanksgiving has already passed!’, but looking at the amount of holiday leftovers that have overrun our fridge in the past week, I can’t help but believe that Thanksgiving 2014 is already behind us. So today I decided to post a recap of all of the delicious, cruelty-free vegan Thanksgiving recipes both Rob and I made to celebrate this holiday. This year, it was just the two of us at our Thanksgiving celebration. Because both of our families are too far away – Rob’s on the East Coast, mine in Russia – and the fact that we both are very introverted to make new friends easily, we realized early on that this Thanksgiving wasn’t going to be too crowded at our house, and made peace with that. However, I wanted to pull all the stops and cook a lot of traditional dishes anyway. This is … Read the rest of the post

New Series: Tried and True Recipes! Plus Our 4th of July Weekend Trip to the Mountains

You may have noticed that I haven’t been posting a lot of recipes lately. Before I pull out the “It’s hard to blog regularly while having a full-time job!” card, I’ve got to admit that lately I’ve been making a lot of recipes from various vegan cookbooks and blogs as opposed to experimenting on my own. So the other day I had an idea to put together a post about those recently tried recipes and share all that vegan deliciousness with you – after all, this post about my 10 favorite recipes from other blogs from a few months ago remains one of the most popular posts on Vegan Runner Eats. Then I had an even better idea – what if I start a new series here on the blog, and regularly share a few of the recipes I’ve recently tried? So today I’m introducing the new series that I’m calling Tried and True Recipes! … Read the rest of the post
