Hi everyone! I’ve got an exciting announcement to make today!
When I started this blog, my main concern was to provide lots of valuable information for people new to a plant-based vegan diet and interested in exercise and staying active. I tried to stick to the plan by documenting my training for a marathon and posting recipes I was developing along the way. While this plan mostly worked, I was constantly thinking of finding new ways to make this blog even more interesting.
And this is how I came to an idea to start two new series on Vegan Runner Eats:
– Vegan Kitchen Simplified: a series of posts about various vegan-friendly ingredients and their use, or different kitchen techniques that can make plant-based cooking even healthier. A lot of people get confused in the kitchen once they make a switch to a plant-based/vegan diet, so the posts from Vegan Kitchen Simplified series will aim at making things more clear. There’s always something new to learn, from cooking with no oil to finding out how to enhance the nutritional profile of our favorite dishes, and oftentimes I’ll be learning along with you.
The first installment of Vegan Kitchen Simplified series is airing on the blog tomorrow, so stay tuned!
– Workout Central: posts with workouts that can be done at the gym or at home with minimal or no equipment. There will be detailed instructions and pictures of each exercise with modifications to make it easier or harder. Even on a plant-based diet, we’ve got to keep moving to stay healthy, so these 15-30 minute workouts can come in very handy!
The truth is, recently I’ve been enjoying interval training with weights much more than running. Exercise with weights has a number of health benefits: it makes our bone tissue stronger, prevents muscle loss that inevitably happens with age, and also makes our muscles burn calories for hours after we’ve finished our workout! And since I’m a big fan of everything that makes us healthier, I think it’s only logical to add workout series to my blog!
For the first post in the Workout Central series, I’ve invited my friend Kellie, a professional personal trainer, to design a workout for Vegan Runner Eats readers. This workout will be posted next week, and it’s guaranteed to make you break some serious sweat!
What about all of the other posts?!
No need to worry here, I’ll continue posting recipes, health-related articles, running updates, and all of the other things that I’ve been writing about in the past few months. There’s just going to be more subjects to cover!
And if you’ve stumbled upon my blog just now, take a look around and feel free to ask any questions! Also, stay in touch with Vegan Runner Eats by subscribing in the top right corner of this post, or by following us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Are you excited about the new series? I sure am!
